This was a toolbar which allows athletes to upload their Garmin Forerunner data directly to the web - now the best way to do this is www.RunSaturday.com :-)

Hollyfox anyone?

I know a few people have asked occasionally for a firefox version of the Hollybar and I've been looking at this in a little more depth recently.

The good news is that on Windows at least it's definitely possible and, indeed, ultimately it could be a better - at least much more flexible - tool.

The bad news it that there's lots and lots of fiddly stuff to do first involving such delightful things as XUL, XPI and XPCOM.

So far I've got to the state where I can get Firefox to show the GPS software version number. Hoorah! That only took a week...

If enough people are interested I will push this through as it'll be an interesting experience if nothing else!

So I wonder if enough people are interested....

I am! The only reason I ever use IE is to use Hollybar.
So that's one comment in a week - by 2009 you should definitely have enough interest to get it going

Me too (sorry, just noticed the blog update). I'd love to offer to help but I know b****** all about Firefox plugins!

dude,

Hollyfox FTW. Same reason as badger, I only use IE for Hollybar.

I am sure if you post this on Fetch you would get more of an uptake and the bandwagon would roll.

Build it an we will come.

A Firefox version would be fantastic - I never use IE! Unfortunately I never use windows (*spit*) either so when you get really, really bored a Mac compatible, firefox compatible hollybar would be unimaginably cool...

Hollyfox is on the way!

But it will be Windows only (for a while at least)

It's very different to Hollybar so far...

Expect a Beta "soon"

Well soonish...

Hollyfox would be great. Why don't you have a link on here to your Paypal account (if you have one) so we can make donations for your hard work in creating this toolbar? I'd donate a few quid.
Cheers,
Daniel

So this got buried for a little while... but I'm on the way back! if there's not something up by the end of November, then call me a donkey and put an apple in my mouth.

Hello

Just in case anyone left an email reminder flag set on this thread...

Son of hollybar is up and running in an early state on http://www.runsaturday.com - it's still changing a lot (including I'm uploading some new changes tonight) - but it should allow you to log to Fetch from a 205/305/405 using FF :) Also it should work from an Apple Mac... but I've not tested that!
